Safety pins from consignment shopping...always end up with a lot but then can never find one when I need it.  Specialty cupcakes for celebrating. Tomatoes from farmer friends. A wonderful flea market find- cross stitched blue birds to honor the blue birds who nested on our porch birdhouse this summer. Dinner time dishes and early birthday celebrations...which also means early birthday presents! A sharpening stone for his chisels. The kids creating ladybugs with permanent markers (oh well!). The five year old makes his own bed for tally marks on our family game board. The ten year old is a reader...his favorite being fact books and anything Narnia-ish.  He is also a big Vans fan...one corner of his room is like an advertisement. He wants to enable texting on his ipod so he can text us (his parents). We think it is a good idea...baby stepping it into the social media world.
