Messes means "fun was had here." Lego time extends to the computer.  And forgotten Snap Circuits get pulled out from under the bed to be played with for a few days. Getting dressed up to match Toothless is just plain fun! And painted fingers is usually a sign that one of the girl cousins came over to play.
